Artist Opens Winery

San Francisco Artist Gregory John Paul Dugan has become a Winery owner. "Gregs Red", is his first offering. While you are wondering where the name may have come from, let me fill you in on how this all got started and how Dugan, considered by many, to be the world's greatest living artist, was able to sell out his first vintage of "Greg's Red" in 3 Days. Greg Dugan, Artist as well as Entrepreneur, has always wanted to own his own Winery and become a Merchant of Hand Crafted, Estate Bottled wines, since the days he lived in Napa Valley. Now, big Wineries don't usually pick a second harvest of grapes because, although they may be as good, if not better than the first harvest, it's not cost effective. Dugan and friends go up to Napa every harvest season and gather in grapes from the second harvest and make superb Hand Crafted Wines and Grappa. Wine experts up and down Napa Valley are exclaiming: "GENIUS..., PURE GENIUS" regarding Dugan's savvy marketing skills. This writer for one, thinks Dugan's idea of not confusing customers with many different names for his wine, eg. Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay Blush, etc. and just calling it "Greg's Red", is brilliant! I am tired of all the malarkey about this varietal and that varietal, just give me a good old Red Wine, I don't need to know what grapes were used. With "Greg's Red" I know I am getting a great, superb wine made in the best wine growing region in the world, the famous Napa Valley California, USA.
